Art Resources For Fun Easy Art

Finding art resources can be a time consuming project so as I discover links that can be useful I will post them here. You can come here and just find what you need, but I will also put links on different pages to reference a link here to make it easier as you go through the site. I would also like to have art resources you know about that I can add to this list so please feel free to get in touch with me at john@fun-easy-art.com. This holds true for any information you think would be of interest on this site. List of Art Resources

1. I mentioned you should always use Angel rubber stamp companies and here is a long list of these companies. 156 pages to be exact so don't print the file as you can just look up each site and see if they have the kind of stamps you are looking for. rubberstampinglinks.com/angel-companies.html

2. Nice ladies for Domino stamps can be found at two different locations. I have used two so far and I am sure I will find more. But to start you off you might look at these two companies.

Stampsmith.netThe Stampsmith 36 E. Carver St Huntington, NY 11743-3434 Phone/Fax (631)547-5922 Eastern Time estelle@stampsmith.netI found that the stamps were not etched very deep so they didn't work as well for me.

Theenchantedgallery.com The owner is Kimberly Crick and you can email her at enchantedgal@gmail.com. Her domino stamps are the ones you see on my site under Dominoart. These stamps are etched very deep and work great.

3. The silk print and peel material I used with my inkjet to print on silk fabric and then use with wax was from, jacquardproducts.com 800-442-0455 called silk fabric sheets.

4. Jumping the gun on this one as I have not compleated the project as yet, but I am in the process so I thought I would list it here. I wanted to put my own wax art pictures on the dominos and found this article first on the HGTV site telling how it is done. Episode:HCLVR-242 Domino Art Pendant with Kelly Smith of Rising Sun MD. She takes a painting of hers and reduces it to 1 inch by 2 inches and using a decal transfer paper she prints it on her ink jet and then slips the decal off onto a domino. I have not done one as yet but will in the next week or so. I have already reduced pictures to that size and waiting for the paper to arrive. I got it from-BelDecal.com I will come back here and let you know how this project worked as I really like the idea. I have done a few now and like the outcome. I had some trouble getting the right reduction and am having them done again and will do a second batch in a few days. I think it is a great idea to work with.

5. Paints luminarteinc.com

6. Photo Insert Cards I have been using the photo insert cards from winthrop-atkins.com. I get the 4x6 size and then I go and get the plastic sleeves at the same site in packs of 100 to showcase the cards when I sell them in the gallery I belong to. You can pack a small insert in that plastic sleeve to tell about Encaustic painting and a bit about yourself. I use to sell only originals but I have gone to making reproductions of my work now and only selling that original size framed. For small orders I sell the 5 packs to my student who take classes for $6.50, but if you order 100 at a time you can get a better price direct. I don't have these listed as yet on the catalog page, but if you want you can email me at john@fun-easy-art.com to get a small batch of what ever colors I have in stock at the moment.

7. Jewelry resource for supplies RioGrande.com

8. Another wax supply I have tried that works is the brand R & F brand that I purchased from Daniel Smiths catalog (danielsmith.com). I got the introduction set of 7 colors to check them out. If you were going to go into the style of painting with brushes and want a thick coat of wax to work on these are hefty blocks of wax and give you a lot of wax per block. The starter sets looks like this.
