Encaustic Class PhotosTo start our encaustic class photos we go to Green Valley Arizona where the Santa Rita Art League sponsored two class sessions in their wonderful studio at the Springs GVR facility. This is the second year I have come to Green Valley in February to teach. The reaction seems to be the same everywhere that the first experience with melted wax is just plain fun. Here is the two class photos from these sessions. What a great place to escape the rain of the pacific northwest. Nothing like taking your cup of coffee in the morning out into the sun and slowly waking up with those warm rays drying out those PNW winter blues.We are talking about different locations for next year so I don't know now if I will be back in Green Valley in '08. You can bet it will be someplace warm, that's for sure.
Our winter journey in 08 took us to Sacramento for a class, down to Pasadena for a Demo, over to Scottsdale Arizona for a 3 day session in the Carefree area then we skipped over Tuscon this year and went to the Texas coast in Rockport. Stayed a month and had a lot of fun teaching at the co op gallery in town. Headed home by way of Santa Fe and Albuquerque and did a one day session before heading across 40 and home. Nice two month jaunt but came home way too early as the weather was cold and wet for another three months. Here are a few photos from Rockport.
