Encaustic Supplies To Order

The following encaustic supplies are available to work with this method.
An encaustic iron, that can be used as a hot plate as well as a hand held iron to paint with.

A stylus, that has several points to insert giving different effects like, a pen point, a hot wire brush, a triangular head, and a micro head.

There is a rounded head available as well.

There are three sets of wax colors to choose from and you also can purchase a whole box of one color.

The set above on the left is the Starter set the right one is called Expanding. The Vivid set below has a lot of neon colors and it could be your third choice.

These waxes are for this style of low heat painting with the right melt temperatures. I have tried some other waxes and they do not behave the same for this low heat method of painting.

There is a line of card stock to paint on that comes in sizes from A6 up to A2. Insert cards with envelopes are also available. They look like this.

And a plastic envelope is great to encase and protect your cards; if you are going to sell them.

There are rubber stamps you can add to your encaustic supply order.

The Encaustic Art Project Book, by Michael Bossom is a great resource. He is the person I learned from. He lives in England and there is quite a large following in Europe of this method of wax painting. I get all of my supplies, through him. Shipped by his partner in Holland. You can check out the supplies pages to get price information and order these and other items.
